Welcome to Association for the Protection of Women's and Children's Rights (APWCR)
APWCR was formed and registered as a human rights development organization with the Ministry of Territorial Administration Ref. No. 70/G37/D1/VOL III/OAPP of 30th December 1999 with headquarters in Limbe - Cameroon. It was started by Mr. George Abang Tawoh due to the difficult situation he lived in within his local community, most of it contrary to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the Convention on the Rights of the Child; A particular social problem was forced marriage, whereby women are given for marriage to settle debts owed by their parents. Mr. Abang-Tawoh experienced this through the case of his aunt. APWCR mission covers all of Cameroon but for the time being has targeted its operations in the South West, Littoral, North West and Central Regions of Cameroon for now.
The beneficiaries of its programmes and projects are men, women and children and targetted communities. In particular, however, it targets rural women, teenage mothers, children, female students who have dropped out of school, youths, commercial sex workers and girl children since they are the most under-privileged in the society.
